Four Dutch residents have been arrested as part of an international crackdown on sales of illegal goods on the dark web. Police confirmed reports by investigative TV programme Pointer that 150 arrests had been made in the US and Europe relating to traders on DarkMarket, one of the largest dark web marketplaces, which was shut down in January. The Dutch national police arrested the owners of the two largest DarkMarket accounts in the Netherlands, which operated under the names Dutch Magic and Sankhara. Investigators also seized more than €26.7 million in cash and cryptocurrency, 234 kilos of illegal drugs and 45 firearms. In total 63 people were arrested in the US, 47 in Germany, 24 in the UK, 21 in Switzerland, four in the Netherlands, three in France and one in Bulgaria.
